fingers crossed. toes too.

our little humble new englander is still on the market.  what gives people!?!?  last night after a couple hours of head to toe cleaning we had a follow up showing with a young couple with their parents.  they are very interested and I am anxiously awaiting the feedback from last nights viewing.  I do love that house, it's been great to us for close to 4 years, but it's time for us to move on and start a new life in our forever home.  I purchased a token of luck about a month ago, a statue of St. Joseph which you're supposed to bury near your house.  I couldn't bury him, so he looks at the main entrance as people walk in.  Depending on the results of this showing, St Joseph may finally find his way in the ground. look at how stinking cute this house is & the yard - oh my.

dreaming little one

a few weeks back you opened your eyes from a night of sleep with your hand behind your head and said "hey, I got a haircut. nama took me for a haircut and at the store I got a toy."  I asked if that was something you were thinking about while sleeping and you said yes.  It was absolutely adorable.

chet.

we have a bird.  chet.  he claimed shane has his mama bird about a week ago when shane found him at the office under his work truck.  solon & shane are very smitten with this little ball of feathers.  I think he super cute, however I do think about the often liquid doody he leaves in his trail and prefer he doesn't leave it on me.  chet eats and eats & has quite a little attitude.  we love him & he is a deuben now.

mama's day celebration.

first I want to acknowledge how stinking wonderful it is to be a mother.  I LOVE IT.

I love saying: I'm a mom, I have a son, my kiddo did this ________, but kiddo said this ________.  I look forward to mother's days with all the handmade crafts from solon and I will keep them all.  I will be a hoarder of my children's crafts.

any who, by lovely deuben boys took me on a surprise outing.  we were in the car by 830am (ahead of schedule which is slightly rare for us) we jumped on 95 and jumped off in portsmouth for breakfast at http://www.thefriendlytoast.net/, breakfast was good, mimosas were weak.  back in the car and headed to massachusetts, by this point I gave up on guessing.  the day was warm and perfect, pandora playing us some good tunes, solon napping and sweaty, perfect.
we've made it, pulled into the parking lot for https://butterflyplace-ma.com/.  I have never heard of this place!  we browse the gift shop, pay our fee and head into this warm indoor garden.  butterflies are flying all over, little finches zip by and chinese painted quails nest in holes.  it was awesome, beautiful & maine needs one.  there were giant butterflies snaking on a feeder of bananas, butterflies landing on children and adults, the little quails were zig zagging on the ground.  I wanted to kick the other patrons out so we could enjoy them all alone.  especially kick out little miss bossy pants, who was bossing my little one around.  we left the butterfly place with a new family member, a painted lady caterpillar which we will watch grow into a butterfly.  solon named her/him turkey, but later changed it to seeka.  headed to our car it was hot and to our left were half a dozen sprinklers watering the lawn.  it didn't take chicken long to get wet and strip down to his underwear.

after the sprinkler we turned the sub around and headed to boston's north end for dinner.  we started out with gelato & limoncellos at a cafe, strolled around while dado searched for the perfect hole in the wall italian restaurant.  we got sucked into a restaurant that was not on the list by the sweet christina aguilera looking hostess.  dinner was good, decent; chicken inhaled his spaghetti and meatball and seeka weaved a web.  one last stop for a glass of wine or two.  we sat a very sweet bistro with wide open windows, perfect for people watching.  solon bopped to the music, made onlookers smile and caught the attention of two girls from hong kong who asked to have a picture taken with him.  it was a fantastic saturday & here are the pictures to show it:

mama's day.

mother's day was fantastic.  shane & I took our mama's out for a brunch at petite jacqueline & then we took chicken out for a bike ride. my mother's day celebration will kick off this saturday with a destination unknown in massachusetts....

to health.

So, I'm tired today.  I was tired over the weekend as well.  I'm truly tired of being tired.  All last week I was feeling energized, healthy & awake (lost 2.5 pounds too!) and since I took 'a little' break from the elliptical for the weekend I'm back to feeling sluggish.  Granted I did have a girl's night out Friday, which ended up to be way more than I anticipated, being 30 now - I just don't bounce back like I used from late nights.  I so easily get side tracked on the weekends - eating out, having one more beverage than planned...  I need to get us all on a healthy kick start.

The Plan: 2+ miles on the elliptical Mon-Thur, Fridays when I have the house to myself I can really bang out a workout - 5+ miles.  The weekend, wake early; it really does make a difference and I would have much more time with my boys and for fun things. Sat&Sun 3-5 miles, perhaps take one of the days off. The days I get out of work at a reasonable time the boys and I can take a walk and continue our weekend walks as well.  I'm totally doing it this time - I will loose this post pregnancy weight I've been carrying for 3 years(!), be healthy and awake.

Eats:  We do eat pretty well, when we plan our weekly menu and stick to it.  I do need to eat more fruit and less carbs/gluten.  I feel very lethargic if I eat a lot of carbs in a day.  We bought a juicer over the weekend, Shane and I plan to cleanse with a three day detox of juices http://www.alkalinesisters.com/alkalizing/green-drinks/, the cleanse probably wont be until June due to events on the calendar that will hinder the effects, but we're both very ready.  I really wouldn't mind seeing a intuitionalist, get advice and a regime based on my needs.  I'm ready to make a life change; be healthy and active - have energy to play with my kid(s), live long to see my grandchildren.

Before I was using my elliptical I was having moments (frequent) of dizziness for about a month too. It was scary to feel the pressure and fogginess in my head followed by the feeling of getting off an elevator with a lot of my movements; turning my head, spinning in my chair (not the 'fun' around & around) and with standing.  With the dizzy feeling I would then have a minor panic attack from stressing over what I instantly assume is something deadly.  It was awful.  I have a doctor appointment at the end of the month and I will discuss this with her, but I think I found the solution to my problem.  Of course there is some underlying anxiety that it could be something more, but I'm not going to waste time and stress until there is something to be concerned about.  For now I intend to ride that elliptical and drip sweat and eat delicious meals with mucho nutrients!

another blog.  a family, idea, interest of things, miscellaneous blog.  chicken had his blog http://picnicwithsolon.blogspot.com/, now it's time for a this and whatever place to toss mine (our) stuff, because being 30 and a mama to a 3 year old - I tend to forget most things and collect a dozen+ post-its and other little pieces of paper with quick scribbles or print a page of every fantastic idea and recipe for things to remember, do, etc.  mucho gracias for pinterest http://pinterest.com/tiaadams/, but another place to toss things at is super helpful.

here we go....
